Foundation about to get Punk'd
A music publication recently said that if the Trailer Park Boys formed a band, it would look and sound a lot like The 3Tards. Toronto's top punk band will be bringing their mesmerizing live show to The Foundation in Barrie, on May 20. They are currently on tour in support of their latest album, Crystal Balls. The band's performance in Barrie comes on the heels of their successful breast cancer benefit concert, held in Toronto, which raised $2,605 for breast cancer research. The event also generated a lot of press, including articles in the Toronto Sun, NOW Magazine and Dose. The band itself perhaps does a better job than anyone else in describing not only their music, but also their attitude. "Emerging from a yellow-stained snowbank during the cold winter of 2001, The 3Tards immediately established themselves as leaders of the 'asscore' movement." Spearheaded by the formidable four-man wrecking crew themselves, 'asscore' is the musical equivalent of a drunken biker brawl in a steamy bathhouse," their promotional material reads. The band actually combines elements of classic punk rock, hardcore and metal into one potent package - so bring your earplugs to the Foundation. Their live shows have drawn rave reviews, as them often have theme nights, such as Michael Bolton and Ricky Martin fan club appreciation nights, to dressing up as The Village People. The 3Tards have opened for the likes of The Dickies, Dayglo Abortions, Agent Orange, The Ripcords, as well as the legendary Misfits.
